About Me

I have been making hats in Sydney since the mid 1980s.

I started out wholesaling to boutiques and department stores, then established and ran a shop of my own for 10 years in William Street Paddington.

I’m best known for my bespoke racing commissions which have been my focus for the last 30 years.

I have made hats for innumerable Fashions on the Field winners, and my hats have been exhibited worldwide.

I have also taught millinery extensively, both here in Australia and internationally. See teaching

Remake/Remodel

Crafting rare and beautiful vintage remnants into inspired hand made millinery.

After 30+ years of focussing on creating bespoke commission hats for clients, largely to wear to the races, I am pivoting to a considered ready to wear e-commerce collection.

My inspiration for this project has come from my huge collection of millinery materials, dressmaking fabrics, ribbons, flowers, beads and buttons, many of which are vintage and now rare. Sadly, they don’t make these materials like they used to!

We all have sustainability and reducing waste on our minds now. What better way to create new products mindfully than to draw on existing resources and re-craft these beautiful vintage fragments into something new, to give them a new life and send them out into the world?

While I don’t offer a bespoke millinery design service anymore, I do offer:

Personalisation

If you see a hat you like, but need a different colour way or trim, this can mostly be arranged! Please contact me.

Remodelling

In keeping with the reuse ethic, I offer a remodelling service for my hats. If you have a hat that you have worn many times and you need a new look, this is a great option! It’s amazing how simply tweaking the shape and adding a new trim makes the hat a totally new creation! Book a video call.

Repairs and Renovations

It is always best to take any hat back to the milliner who made it. Contact me if you need this service for a milliner made hat, or a quality brand such as Akubra.
